Craving a More Balanced Way of Being? Start Here.

The #1 response I get to the question: “How do you want to feel?” and my #1 tip.

I talk to a lot of people who want to make changes but don’t know where to start. They know something is off and they’re frustrated and discouraged because they have tried “everything” (30-day challenges, naturopaths, the latest exercise programs, supplements, cleanses…), yet they still feel like something is missing and they are not sure what it is.

When I ask them, “How do you want to feel?” the number one response I get is “BALANCED”. But here’s the catch. They can’t tell me what balanced means. And it’s no wonder, you’re busy with the the never-ending to-do list and stuck in a go-go lifestyle that’s wearing you out and leading to feeling overwhelmed. Heck yeah you want more BALANCE but it’s hard to know where to start and to create the time and space needed for the changes you desire.

Sound familiar? I get it, this was me before I found Ayurveda and honestly, I still have days where I struggle. Occasionally feeling out of balance is expected but it’s when we continually feel off, that it’s time to make a change. Often the problem lays in what we don’t know. We get stuck in our own cycles and unaware of current habits that are causing our imbalances.

You’ve heard the saying, “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten?” The place to start to create the change you desire is with an assessment of your current state of being. One of the main teachings in Ayurveda and yoga is the practice of svadhyaya, which is the study of one’s self. The first step towards self-improvement and creating a life you love is looking at yourself honestly and objectively.

Below are a few questions that align with Ayurveda’s teachings and when answered honestly, they provide a way to practice svadhyaya and establish a baseline for your health and wellness.

  • Is your energy low or do you rely on caffeine to get you going in the morning and keep you going throughout the day?
  • Does your energy vary day to day or with changing seasons?
  • Do you feel like you are making fairly healthy choices but still are not thriving in your life?
  • Are your moods variable?
  • Do you have trouble sleeping?
  • Is your digestion off? How so?
  • Do you get sick often or for long periods of time?
  • Do you experience brain mental fatigue?
  • Are you making time for the things your love and bring you joy?

You may be surprised to learn that by shinning a light on the areas of your life that need attention things will begin to shift. Awareness is the first step to empowering yourself to optimize your health and wellness.

I’d love to hear what you discovered and as always send me a message if you would like support making your desired changes.

Wishing you Vibrant Living
