Thanksgiving is almost upon us and we are in the midst of the season of gratitude. Not that I don’t practice gratitude the rest of the year but the tradition of Thanksgiving is a great reminder to express our appreciation for all the many blessings in our lives. In both the teachings of yoga and Ayurveda cultivating gratitude and holding our attention on positive thoughts is one of the ways to cultivate contentment. I keep a little journal and have a daily practice of writing my gratitudes and collecting quotes I love. Yes, gratitude is a practice. The more you do it, the more natural it becomes, and the more you benefit.
